Let's Dip In

CRAZY SH*T 🤨

Horrible Neighbors

Your neighbors can’t possibly be this bad (or so we hope). A Florida family went on an insane rampage, seemingly out to kill their neighbors and some cops for fun.

  • Julie Ann Sulpizio went into her neighbors’ yard, assaulted a couple, and accused them of being pedophiles. After the man called police, Julie led officers to her home where they encountered her husband, Michael, who opened fire on them.
  • Three officers were hit, and one eventually died from his injuries. The family was heavily armed with over 20 firearms and body armor, but the confrontation ended with the apparent suicides of Michael and his two daughters.
  • Julie, who was unharmed, admitted to investigators that she tried to lure her neighbors to their deaths. In a disgusting twist, she even expressed joy upon learning of the officer’s death. While we may not ever know their motives, Julie probably won’t be returning to society anytime soon: she’s facing 12 felony charges.

Mean Girls

Retired gymnast MyKayla Skinner is receiving lots of online hate and even alleged death threats, but not everyone feels sorry for her.

  • Skinner, a 1x Olympic medalist, sparked controversy last month when she claimed that “Besides Simone (Biles), I feel like the talent and the depth just isn't like what it used to be.” She apologized shortly after but Biles didn’t let her off the hook, dropping an Instagram post after winning a team gold medal, sarcastically referencing her comments.
  • Biles’ post blew up in the week to follow, with many claiming Skinner was being a sore loser. By Tuesday, Skinner once again touched on the subject, alleging Biles’ actions provoked trolls to threaten her and her family.
  • Many are finding it hard to feel bad for her, noting that none of this would have happened without her initial diss. Biles, for her part, hasn’t directly commented on the situation. That may be because she was busy winning 3 golds in Paris.

Dipper Poll

:📈 Today's Poll: Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying started out between teens, but these days anyone online can catch some mean words.
Some argue the problem is worse than ever, but others claim avoiding it is as simple as closing your screen.
What do you think:
Is Cyberbullying A Major Problem?

BUSINESS 💼

Give Me Money

What do you do when you lose a major client at work? If you’re Elon Musk, the answer is clear: sue them to keep buying your product.

  • Musk’s Twitter (X) filed the lawsuit earlier this week, suing a group of advertisers who stopped doing business with the company. The suit claims they colluded to boycott X, significantly reducing their ad spending after Musk took over in 2022.
  • X argues that the boycott forced it to lower ad prices, making it harder to compete against other social media platforms. Musk took to the site to announce the lawsuit, sayingWe tried peace for 2 years, now it is war.”
  • Although the claims might sound bizarre on the surface, the House Judiciary Committee recently published a report which suggested that the boycott may be illegal under antitrust laws. We’ll see if the courts agree, or if they side with the advertisers’ right to boycott.

Fun Facts:

💻 Streaming: At the height of the pandemic, nearly 10 million people were streaming monthly on Twitch.

🌳 Trees: A cork oak tree can produce up to 5,000 bottle corks each harvest.

🌎 Demographics: 87% of Earth's population lives in the Northern Hemisphere.

🤨 WTF: The “snow” used in The Wizard of Oz was actually pure asbestos.
